The history of this residence begins in the mid-nineteenth century. A stone arch takes us back to 1875, when the facility was born as a foundry for metalworking and the production of objects for agricultural use. The fumes produced by the melting of the metal were dispersed through the large brick chimneys that are still visible today. Later, the owners began the production of flour and the old stone millstones used for grinding wheat are still visible in the restaurant. At the end of the 19th century the complex was sold and the new owners also started the activity of the spinning mill. Silkworms were bred inside the complex for the production of yarns and, to improve the new type of processing, the owner installed an electric turbine, which was later used to supply electricity to the entire town of Loro Ciuffenna until the 1930s. In 1969 all productive activities of the complex ceased and it was purchased for private use. In 1996, after many years of abandonment, the property was purchased by the current owners who, over the course of a year, completely refurbished it, and transformed into the current residence, paying particular attention in maintaining the original features of the building. The current residence has 19 apartments of various types and two restaurant rooms capable of accommodating up to 130 people overall; outside a private parking, a tennis court, a soccer field and a splendid swimming pool, which makes it an enchanting location for events and ceremonies, but what really makes this property unique are the bridge over the Ciuffenna river and the millpond. or the channel, of artificial origin, which belong to the asset! A unique opportunity to buy a characteristic piece of Italian history, just an hour's drive or so from Florence and Siena, and not far from the Prada, Gucci, Armani, Ferragamo, Valentino and Dolce&Gabbana outlets, to divide your leisure time between nature, art and classy shopping.
